【俳優】ベン・キングズレー ／ Ben Kingsley

1943年12月31日生まれ、イギリス・ノース・ヨークシャー州出身。
　
インド系の医師の父、イギリス人でモデルの母を持つ。
1967年からロイヤル・シェイクスピア・カンパニーで活躍。その後、数多くのテレビ、映画に出演。1982年の『ガンジー』でアカデミー賞の主演男優賞を受賞した。エキゾチックな外見で、謎の外国人やアジアの賢人など、独特の役柄をこなしている。
2001年にナイトの称号を与えられている。
　
主な映画出演作は『砂と霧の家』（2003年）、『オリバー・ツイスト』（2005年）、『ヒューゴの不思議な発明』（2011年）など。
